Young Gemynds Primary School and Kindergarten is best known for its Health and Safety Policy. We treat our staff and students as our family and keep them safe.
Entry in our school premises is prohibited without a mask. Our entrance gate is guarded by well-equipped SSP of Servicos de Seguranca e Proteccao along with a local guard who is an employee of the school.
During the pandemic, we are taking additional steps to protect our students and staff. Upon entering the school premises, students and staff must pass through the station to measure body temperature, disinfect their belongings, and wash their hands. Additional wash areas will be newly constructed to emphasize the importance of hand washing and disinfection.
Corridors have alcohol dispensers to sanitize their hands whenever needed. To maintain social distancing in the school we follow the protocol of the government to keep our students and teachers safe.
Photos were shown and awareness discussions were held by each healthcare professional to help students and staff learn more about COVID-19. A separate room is maintained as an Infirmary room in case there are students or staff who may have the flu or symptoms.
Classrooms are disinfected during breaks and after school hours. The school has kept these measures as mandatory which must not be compromised. In case of an emergency with students or staff, experienced teachers will provide first aid and medical assistance will be arranged at the nearest clinic. In case of an emergency or illness, parents of students will be notified immediately.
Student’s security is one of the top priorities of the school in any situation. The campus of the school is secured with high walls and iron fence. The school has two main doors- one for entrance and one for exit.
Both gates are heavily guarded by our SSP and Local Guard.
Before entering the school, one must provide their identity at the entrance gate.
Students’ bags are checked as they enter the school campus to make sure that the students don’t bring any unnecessary & harmful equipment’s to school. This also ensures the safety of students, teachers and staff.
Crucial timings are well-taken care of by the teachers and staff. Teachers are assigned to the gate duties to welcome the students.
After school hours, students are escorted to their car by the assistant teachers. The local guard will make sure to keep a track of the students who left for home.
Students are not allowed to go with any unidentified person.
The school has local security guards at night. Burglar alarms enhance security at night and on public holidays.
So far with the security and health measures, we have not encountered any traumatizing experiences in the school. Every single person in the school is responsible for the effectiveness of this policy.
